Two Men Arrested Following Armed Home Invasion Robbery in Atlantic City
Two South Jersey men are facing charges after cops in Atlantic City say they committed an armed home invasion robbery early Wednesday morning.
ACPD officers responded to the 200 south block of Seaside Avenue around 1AM for the report of an armed home invasion involving four males. Cops say the suspects entered a rooming house and assaulted and robbed occupants of several rooms. They fled with cash and cell phones.
While responding, an officer saw two men, one wearing a black ski-mask, walking in the 200 block of Atlantic Avenue. Upon seeing the cop, the two men, identified as 18-year-old Jamirr Arthur of Atlantic CIty and 21-year-old Gerone Foster of Egg Harbor Township, fled. Foster was located in a nearby alley and taken into custody without incident. Arthur was captured a short time later. Cops were able to recover a loaded gun and a ski mask that they say Arthur got rid of while running. A backpack owned by Foster contained a loaded sawed-off shotgun, according to police.
A third man was also taken into custody but was later released with no charges filed against him.
Both Arthur and Foster were charged with robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and hindering apprehension; both were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Mays Landing.
