Two Men with 66 Felony Convictions Allegedly Steal 79-Year-Old Woman’s Wallet
Nearly two months after a 79-year-old woman allegedly had her wallet stolen in Mays Landing, both suspects in the crime are in custody and facing charges.
According to Hamilton Township Police, a woman was leaving HomeGoods in Mays Landing on September 15th when she was approached by 59-year-old Edward King of Atlantic City, who offered to help the woman with her shopping cart. While King was pretending to be a model citizen, 50-year-old Vincent Saxon of Egg Harbor Township reached into the woman's purse and stole her wallet. Cops say the pair used the victim's credit cards and racked-up nearly $1,300 in charges.
Between the two, officials say King and Saxon have a combined 66 felony convictions for similar crimes.
King is currently in custody at Bayside State Prison and his charges have been placed on a summons. Hamilton Township Police report Saxon was arrested Tuesday morning and is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
