A Vineland man wanted for his involvement in an August shooting in Atlantic City has been arrested.

Police say 35-year-old Andre Alexander of Vineland was arrested last Saturday without incident in the first block of South Texas Avenue in Atlantic City.

According to police, Alexander was wanted for shooting a man on the afternoon of August 3rd. In that incident, officers responded to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division in reference to a man that had walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound. The 22-year-old victim from Philadelphia, who sustained a non-life threatening injury, was shot during an altercation in the 3100 block of Pacific Avenue.

An investigation conducted by ACPD detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit led to the charges against Alexander.

Alexander has been charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
