Wanted Man Sleeping on an Atlantic City Sidewalk Arrested with a Handgun and Heroin

Atlantic City Police have arrested a wanted man who was found sleeping on a sidewalk.

At almost 11:00 Tuesday night, three Atlantic City police officers located 24-year-old Darrell Legette sleeping on a sidewalk at the corner of Florida and Pacific Avenues.

Upon waking him up, Legette was found to have an active warrant. While being taken into custody, according to a press release, officers found a loaded gun in his pants and four bags of heroin in his pocket.

Legette has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was also cited for sleeping in public and remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
