We all picture our area as being a pretty heavily developed, but in reality, Mother Nature is right around the corner.

Case in point: a bear was walking around near McDonald's and the old Kmart along Route 72 in Manahawkin Thursday morning.

According to Jersey Shore Online, a worker at McDonald's called police because they were worried the bear would get hurt.

NJ.com reports police and the New Jersey’s Division of Fish and Wildlife found the bear in a tree between McDonald's and the movie theater.

Police, via NJ.com, said in a statement, "After some time, the bear climbed down from the tree and headed west into the wooded area, appearing to head back in the direction of the Stafford Forge Wildlife Preserves."

Anyone who see the bear is asked to contact police at (609) 597-8581.
