Wawa’s Corporate Chef Wants to Add New Things to the Menu
This week, it was revealed that Wawa’s head corporate Chef, Farley Kaiser, is ready to add some new things to the menu.
Phillymag did an exclusive interview where she said that she will be adding a cheeseburger quesadilla to the menu. Kaiser says, “It’s a new take, with beef, American and cheddar cheeses, pickles, mustard and ketchup, all toasted in a flour tortilla. I think it’s the pickles that make it magical.” Sound crazy? I think I’m all in! But that isn’t all she’s pushing to add.
She also told phillymag that she really wants to introduce healthier options to the menu. Many people are really starting to take their health more seriously and like to eat clean. Some items such as salads and hoagie bowls are already on the menu, but soon grain bowls, like quinoa, will be up for grabs.
She started her career way back as a culinary school teacher at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, where she served as the department chair for 9 years. She then moved onto becoming the Manager of Culinary Innovation at Buffalo Wild Wings before finding her home at Wawa, where she has been for the last 2 years.
In fact, she did not even understand the cultural fascination with Wawa until she was asked for a picture. That’s when she realized that this “Wawa Life” is no joke. I guess you can say she’s pretty much famous now!
