Woman Arrested After Confronting, Threatening to Kill Atlantic City Mayor
Police say a woman was arrested after threatening Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small.
Friday afternoon, according to Atlantic City Police, officers who were on-duty inside city hall went outside to the parking lot and observed 47-year-old Nicole Staton yelling at Mayor Small while a small group watched.
The officers learned that as Mayor Small was driving in the parking lot, Staton, who was not known to the Mayor, jumped in front of the vehicle causing Mayor Small to stop. She then approached and began banging on the window of the car yelling at him. Mayor Small exited his vehicle in an attempt to speak with Staton who continued to yell and threatened to kill Mayor Small and his family. Staton was arrested without incident.
Staton, of Atlantic City, was charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, and harassment. She was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
