Woman Arrested For Leaving Two Children in a Parked Car – ACPD
A Pleasantville woman is facing charges after cops in Atlantic City say she left two children unattended in a parked car while she was filling-out paperwork to get a job.
Authorities in Atlantic City say two officers responded to the Ocean Resort Casino around 3:00 Monday afternoon for a report of two children in the self-park garage. A person found a 6-year-old child walking around the garage and notified security personnel. The vehicle the child got out of was located and the child’s less than one-year-old sibling was located inside.
Cops say the children were left unattended by their babysitter, 23-year-old Shaun Saunders of Pleasantville, who was at Ocean Resort completing paperwork for a job.
Officers were at the garage trying to find Saunders for over an hour when she returned to her car where she was arrested without incident. While being searched, cops say she was found in possession of marijuana.
The children were turned over to their mother. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency assisted the officers.
Saunders has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. She was released on a summons with a future court date.
