Frank Balles Is Poised To Become Atlantic County Freeholder

When Frank Formica resigned his position as an Atlantic County Freeholder at Large, Frank Balles cleared the field in record time.

David Wildstein was the first media member to report the news of Formica’s resignation.

It’s become so self-evident that Balles will be selected for the vacancy, that no one else has even submitted their name to be considered.

That’s unheard for a coveted, vacant Freeholder seat.

The Atlantic County Republican County Committee will meet tonight at Linwood Country Club to make it official.

It will be done by a secret ballot voting process. There is no suspense.

Balles is a current Egg Harbor Township Committeeman and a popular former 3-term Atlantic County Sheriff.

The vote is taking place at the Linwood Country Club beginning at 6:00 p.m.

There are 15 months remaining on Formica’s unexpired term. Balles will stand for election in November, 2021.

When Balles takes the Freeholder seat, he will have to resign his Egg Harbor Township Committee seat.

The Egg Harbor Township Committee will select a replacement for Balles. The seat will be on the ballot in the 2021 election cycle.
