It seems like there's no shortage of rumors and guesses as to what businesses or stores could be apart of the not-even-built-yet Gravelly Run Square shopping plaza on the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing.

And, to be frank, we're fanning those rumor flames by posting this.

The Gravelly Run Shopping Center is going to be built on that almost 50-acre lot that was recently cleared in Mays Landing on the Black Horse Pike between Wrangleboro Road and McKee Avenue, across from Chuck E. Cheese's. When it's finished, the nearly 300,000-square foot shopping center will bring even more retail to an already packed shopping area.

Rumors about what's planned for there have been swirling around since the very first tree got knocked down last May. The biggest -- and still completely unconfirmed rumor -- is that Costco might go there. According to an investors relations website, the average Costco is about 145,000-square feet (that's roughly the size of the Mays Landing Walmart), so it would "fit" there -- but, again, that is just an unfounded rumor.

The latest rumors (again, these are completely unfounded) say two restaurants could be joining the mix: Cracker Barrel and The Cheesecake Factory.

Cracker Barrel does dot the landscape in the Garden State with their nearest location in Mount Laurel. I reached out to Cracker Barrel management last week and asked them for any information regarding a future Mays Landing restaurant and they would neither confirm nor deny any plans.

The Cheesecake Factory has one location in our area, that being in Cherry Hill. I also reached out to their corporate offices for a comment last week and they did not return my e-mail.

So, again, we're just posting what we're hearing. Those two restaurants coming to Mays Landing are just rumors at this point. Nothing has officially been announced for the Gravelly Run Square shopping center.
