Will the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission have its computer issues fixed on Wednesday?

According to the MVC website, its offices statewide on Tuesday were "unable to process license transactions," — prompting widespread reports of frustrated customers who waited until the end of the month to renew their drivers licenses. The message remained posted early Wednesday morning.

MVC spokeswoman Mairin Bellack said early Wednesday morning the status of the computers for Wednesday won't be known until the offices open up for business at 8:30 a.m.

An attempt to change an address and renew a vehicle registration on the MVC website at 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning were both met by the message "Due to a temporary error the request could not be serviced."

The problems began last week with a "hardware failure." according to 6 ABC.  The state Office of Information Technology is responsible for maintaining state computers.

Many customers took to Twitter to express their frustration at the problem.
