Wonderful Wednesday Weather: Final Day of Low Humidity and Sun
Enjoy the winning weather while it lasts, as increasing humidity, temperatures, cloud cover, and rain chances are ahead.
Simply gorgeous. I'm loving Wednesday's weather forecast, and I hope you will too. Dry air and the resulting low humidity are such a treat in the summertime here in the Garden State. And with a transition to steamier conditions arriving by Thursday afternoon, we'd better enjoy the breath of fresh air while it lasts!
Temperatures are starting out in the 50s Wednesday morning, with forecast high temperatures close to 80 degrees. (That's about 5 degrees below normal for late June.) Sunshine will dominate the sky through dinnertime Wednesday, with light winds (10 to 15 mph) and low humidity (dew point around 50). Rain chances are near-zero.
Clouds will start to increase Wednesday evening. But worry not — conditions will remain pleasant and comfortable all night, with low temperatures falling into the lower 60s by Thursday morning.
Even though Thursday is transition day, our weather doesn't look too bad on the whole. We'll see a mix of sun and clouds, and we'll feel noticeably warmer and more humid conditions resuming by Thursday afternoon. High temperatures are expected to bump into the mid 80s. I'm keeping Thursday's forecast dry for now, even though models show a "blip" of rain over northern New Jersey around midday.
By Friday morning, it's going to be sticky again with low temperatures only falling to about 70 degrees. Of course by Friday afternoon, it's going to be steamy as highs increase to the upper 80s to around 90 degrees (away from the coast). We get a taste of the "blast furnace effect" on Friday too, as southwesterly winds increase to the "breezy" range (up to about 20 mph). An isolated shower or thunderstorm will be possible Friday afternoon, but I suspect most of the state will remain dry.
And then we dive into the extended holiday weekend and the month of July! The bottom line for the holiday: It's going to feel like the 4th of July! There will be some sun (especially Saturday and Monday), but there will also be some rain (especially Sunday). It's still going to be pretty hot and quite humid, with high temperatures mostly between 85 and 90 degrees.
As I've said before, while no day will be a total washout, there will be at least a slight shower chance every day through next Wednesday (7/5). Therefore, as you make your fireworks plans, it would be wise to keep plans flexible and pay close attention to the rain dates.
