Early Thursday morning, a person was arrested for DWI after allegedly driving the wrong way on the Garden State Parkway between Galloway and Bass River Township.

According to a post on their Facebook page, troopers at the NJSP Bass River Township Station received a call about a wrong-way driver traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway in the area of milepost 51 around 5:00 Thursday morning. A trooper exiting the station to check the report observed Colleen Johnson of Egg Harbor Township pulling into the station parking lot from the southbound lanes; reports say she struck a curb as she pulled into a parking spot. After brief investigation, the trooper arrested Johnson for DWI. An investigation revealed Johnson entered the southbound lanes traveling northbound from the Atlantic City Service Area.

Johnson was charged with DWI, refusal to submit a breath sample, reckless driving, and driving the wrong way on a highway.
