A 13-year-old girl is facing charges after she threatened violence at Winslow Township High School.

In a statement, Winslow Twp. Schools Superintendent H. Major Poteat said the teen girl in question, a middle school student, reportedly left a voicemail at the high school indicating her plans to "shoot up the place".

Schools were placed on lockdown for a short time Thursday as police investigated the threat.

The girl, who remains unnamed, was arrested at the middle school. She's been charged with creating a false public alarm and making terroristic threats, according to the Courier Post.
