17 Arrested, 1 Wanted After Violent Start to 2024 in Atlantic City, NJ
After a violent start to the new year that included several people being killed, officials in Atlantic City say a total of 17 people have been arrested while one person remains on the run.
The Atlantic City Police Department says they have "conducted numerous operations over the last several weeks targeting areas of violence that occurred during the first month of 2024."
During these operations,
- 17 people were taken into custody
- 1 person has been charged and is currently wanted
Of the 17 arrested, seven were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, and the others were released with future court dates.
The ACPD says their recent work has gotten the following items off of the streets of the World's Play Ground:
- 3 handguns
- One replica firearm
- 18.5 grams of cocaine
- 42 bags of heroin
- 51 grams of marijuana
- 16 grams of psychedelic mushrooms
- 4 grams of fentanyl
- 75 ecstasy pills
- 4 Xanax pills
- 7 oxycodone pills
- $1,080 in cash
- One vehicle
