
Several Roads Closed This Weekend for Atlantic City Marathon
An annual marathon in the World's Play Ground will impact drivers on many roads this weekend.
The 2025 Atlantic City Marathon Race Series will take place on Saturday, October 18th, and Sunday, October 19th.
The two-day event, which begins on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, will have athletes running throughout the city and other downbeach communities.
The Atlantic City Police Department says drivers will see an influx of traffic on both days. In addition, bicycles will be prohibited on the boardwalk in Atlantic City and Ventnor on Sunday from 8 AM to 3 PM.
Road Closures and Delays to Expect
Motorists should expect major delays and detours in the following areas on Sunday:
- Brigantine Connector/Atlantic City Expressway Tunnel will be closed from 5:30 to 11:30 AM
- Bacharach Boulevard between MLK Boulevard & Brigantine Connector will be closed from 5:30 to 9 AM
- Renaissance Point Boulevard closed from 5:30 to 11:30 AM
- The Borgata employee parking and delivery entrance will be closed from 6 to 10 AM
- The employee access road to Borgata, entrance to Borgata, Harrah’s, and Golden Nugget will experience delays from 7 to 10:30 AM
- Bacharach Boulevard, New Hampshire Avenue, and Melrose Avenue will experience delays from 7 to 10:30 AM
Additionally, there will be no parking along the route of the events.
Ventnor Information
The Ventnor City Police Department offered this update for their community:
Runner[s] will be coming into and out of Ventnor along the boardwalk and going into Margate from Washington Avenue. There will be parking restrictions on the beach block of Washington Avenue and portions of Atlantic Avenue between Swarthmore and Fredericksburg Avenue.
Weekend Weather for Marathon Participants
As for the weather, participants should be thankful the marathon is this weekend as opposed to last weekend when a big coastal storm impacted the area. As of now, a mix of sun and clouds is in the forecast this weekend with highs of 65 to 70.
