Three people find themselves in jail this weekend following a month-long drug investigation in the World's Play Ground.

The Atlantic City Police Department says the focus of their work, which ended this past Thursday, was on the first block of South Kentucky Avenue.

According to authorities, the target of the investigation, 23-year-old Semaj Poteat of Atlantic City, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody as he left an apartment building.

Once inside the residence, detectives say they located two other people, 26-year-old Laquanda Bailey and 23-year-oldTyjur Blocker, both of Atlantic City.

During a search, detectives allegedly recovered a loaded handgun, 14 grams of cocaine, more than 15 grams of heroin, 29 individual bags of heroin, more than $1,400 in cash, and paraphernalia used in the packaging and distribution of narcotics.

All three are facing money laundering along with drug and weapon-related charges and were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
