6-hour police standoff ends peacefully in Galloway Twp., NJ
No injuries were reported after a tense six-hour police standoff Sunday afternoon in Galloway Township.
The Galloway Township Police Department says at about noon, their officers were called to a home on the 700 block of Cooper Ferry Court for a welfare check.
At the scene, cops learned that the individual in question was reported to be armed and refused to exit the residence.
After about six hours, the subject voluntarily exited the home, surrendered to police, and was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
The Galloway Township Police Department thanked the Atlantic County SWAT Team and Galloway Township EMS for their assistance with this case and the public for their patience during this investigation.
