Cops in Atlantic City say a man from Absecon was arrested Tuesday night following a traffic stop.

The Atlantic City Police Department says one of their officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at Virginia and Atlantic Avenues just before 10:00 Tuesday night. During the stop, 24-year-old Elliot Handy of Absecon was arrested. Police say Handy was in possession, "of a backpack that contained a loaded handgun that included a large capacity magazine and a loaded drum magazine, and 83 grams of marijuana."

The driver of the vehicle, Alisia Harrigan, was released with several motor vehicle summons.

Handy was charged with possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of weapon while committing a CDS offense, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a large capacity magazine, and possession of a defaced firearm. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
