
Absecon, NJ, Man Admits Assaulting Girlfriend, Drug Possession
Absecon, N.J. — An Absecon man is facing three years behind bars in connection with domestic violence and drug charges.
On Thursday, 28-year-old Omar Wallace pleaded guilty to third-degree aggravated assault on a domestic violence victim and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance charges.
Police Found Unprescribed Oxycodone During Arrest
According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, on April 20, 2024, Pleasantville Police Department officers were investigating an unrelated robbery when they encountered Wallace. It was discovered that Wallace had multiple active warrants, and he was taken into custody. During the interaction, they found him to have multiple tablets of unprescribed oxycodone.
Domestic Assault
On August 16, 2025, officers with the Absecon Police Department were dispatched to a home near Oyster Bay Road in reference to a disturbance with a 9-1-1 hang-up. There, they spoke to Wallace, who said he was in an altercation with his girlfriend. Police spoke with the victim, who told police Wallace grabbed her neck and applied pressure, causing her to lose her breath. Wallace was apprehended on scene.
Sentencing Scheduled
Sentencing is scheduled for August 14. His plea calls for a recommended sentence of three years in state prison.
