ACPD Cop Sees Man With Gun, Multiple People Arrested
An observant Atlantic City Police Officer lead to the arrest of multiple people in the city Sunday night.
Authorities say an ACPD officer observed a group of men and women in the rear parking lot of the Martinique Motel in the 3000 block of Pacific Avenue around 8:00 Sunday night going between a motel room and a vehicle. According to a press release, the officer saw 25-year-old Rumiejah Norwood of Atlantic City brandish a handgun and point it at one of the women in the group. The two then rushed into the motel room.
Multiple officers responded to the scene and two individuals outside were quickly detained. Those in the motel room were detained without incident.
Norwood was arrested as well as 37-year-old Anthony Archetto of Atlantic City, 50-year-old Simone Gantz of Atlantic City, 30-year-old Monica Hopewell of Atlantic City, and 24-year-old Nimira Thomas of Pleasantville. All five were found to have active warrants for their arrest. Cops say Archetto was also found in possession of two ecstasy tablets. Four others were released on scene but face charges; 18-year-old Ellis Nah’Jajuan Nadir, 27-year-old Barry Farmer, 30-year-old Thomas Benjamin, and 29-year-old Jeffery Robinson, all of Atlantic City
Inside the room, officers located the handgun along with marijuana and paraphernalia used for narcotic distribution.
Norwood, Archetto, and Thomas were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. The others were released on a summons with a future court date.
