A man from Port Republic is facing a list of charges after authorities say he burglarized two businesses in Atlantic City last Friday.

The ACPD says around 10:00 Friday morning, their officers responded to Pete’s Convenience Store in the 2300 block of Atlantic Avenue for a report of a robbery. Cops say the suspect entered the store with a large stick and demanded money from the store clerk. The suspect opened a cash register, stole money from the drawer, and fled.

That same day, just before 8PM, officers responded to Game Stop in the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue. Authorities say the same suspect approached an employee, gave him a note demanding money, and indicated that he was armed with a gun. After receiving money, the suspect fled the store.

An investigation by ACPD detectives identified the suspect as 31-year-old George Dean from Port Republic. Dean was criminally charged in both robberies. Dean was arrested Saturday at Missouri and Atlantic Avenues in the city by detectives.

Dean has been charged with two counts each of robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and theft. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
