Atlantic County, New Jersey Sheriff candidate Joe O’Donoghue has repeatedly claimed throughout this current campaign and for years before that … that the incumbent Sheriff, Eric Scheffler improperly focuses his time and attention on being a social services agency and not a law enforcement agency.

There are a lot of mounting facts to back-up O’Donoghue’s claims.

Yesterday, I received a written claim that alleges at a recent superior officers meeting, Scheffler “requested that we do not issue any tickets right now.”

The direct inference is to withhold writing tickets until after Election Day.

We have contacted O’Donoghue’s campaign to obtain a comment about this allegation.

O’Donoghue has also called out Scheffler for his association with an activist who supports illegal migrants coming to Atlantic County.

According to O’Donoghue and the documented evidence about a fundraiser … the activist is financially supporting Scheffler’s campaign.

About this, O’Donoghue said:

The activist for the Undocumented Migrants who wanted to bring the 60,000+ from NYC to Atlantic City Airport held a FUNDRAISER to reward our Sheriff for NOT SUPPORTING THE CITIZENS OF ATLANTIC COUNTY. He stated the first call of support he received was from our SHERIFF who made him promises.

Atlantic County, I am Joseph O'Donoghue and I will make you a promise: I promise to bring back FULL TIME LAW ENFORCEMENT to your Constitutional Sheriffs Office and I will always protect the citizens of Atlantic County.

In November vote for me and I will keep you safe and secure. I will never delete a post due to activist pressures and I will always have your back!

Scheffler initially posted a social media comment unambiguously opposing illegal migration to the Atlantic City International Airport.

However, Scheffler promptly took down his public comments after receiving complaints from certain Democrats, who didn’t agree with Scheffler’s position.

Scheffler did not attend Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson’s public rally opposing illegal migration to the Atlantic City International Airport, or, anywhere in Atlantic County.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and many local Democrats, including Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small are opposed to President Joe Biden’s scheme to potentially bring illegal migrants to Atlantic County.

O’Donoghue has been piling-up high profile endorsements:

We need a true Constitutional Sheriff in Atlantic County. Joe O'Donoghue is the man who will bring safety back to Atlantic County - Congressman Jeff Van Drew

Former New Jersey Assemblyman and immediate past Republican Nominee for New Jersey Governor Jack Ciatterelli has formally endorsed O’Donoghue, saying:

Joe O'Donoghue is exceptionally qualified to be the Atlantic County Sheriff. He will work in partnership with local police departments to keep the community safe. Without reservation, I endorse his candidacy - Jack Ciattarelli.
