Arrest Made in Alleged Hit and Run in Cape May

The Cape May Police Department has announced they have made an arrest in a recent hit-and-run incident.

The incident occurred Wednesday morning at 11:46 near Lafayette and Sidney.

The Cape May Police Department says Ptl. Pruszinski observed a vehicle with extensive damage to its windshield and rear of the car.

When Patrolman Pruszinski attempted to initiate a stop, the driver of the vehicle allegedly wouldn't stop.

The vehicle was then abandoned at the intersection of Beach and Ocean.

Police located and arrested the suspect a short time later.

The Cape May Police Department identified the suspect as 25-year-old Brandon Rollans of Blackwood.

Police believe that Rollans was involved in a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian. Authorities say the victim is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have charged Rollans with several motor vehicle violations as well as,

 Two counts (2) of Eluding 2nd Degree, two counts (2) Hindering Apprehension 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest by Force 3rd Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Resisting Arrest by Flight 4th Degree.

Rollans is being held at the Cape May Correctional Center.
