Showboat Atlantic City Owner Enters Boxing Ring At Age 71 & Wins

Developer and Atlantic City, New Jersey, hotel owner Bart Blatstein, 71 years old, won a boxing match at the largest masters boxing tournament on the East Coast.

Blatstein, the CEO of Tower Investments and owner of the Showboat Resort, won his opening match against Steve Schiavoni on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Blatstein is a 2-time Masters Champion in the 165-pound weight class.

Blatstein’s Victory

Blatstein competed as part of the famous Gleason's Gym roster. Blatstein has achieved his goal of bringing live boxing back to the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

The event took place in The Showboat Atlantic City’s specialized boutique boxing venue.

The event raised much-needed funds for the New Jersey Give a Kid a Dream “Champions of Life" program.

I have no direct boxing experience. But, this much I can tell you. As a 19-year-old, I did 3 rounds in the ring against Don Hurley, (my identical twin brother).

It was one of the most physically exhausting challenges that I have ever done.

The physical conditioning that is required to fight in the ring is extraordinary.

Blatstein looks very fit.
