Cops in Atlantic City say an investigation into the distribution of drugs from a high-rise apartment building resulted in the arrest of two men and the seizure of drugs on Friday.

The Atlantic City Police Department says detectives from their Special Investigations Section and the SWAT Team executed simultaneous search warrants at two apartments inside the High Gate Apartments in the 600 block of Absecon Boulevard on Friday.

30-year-old Knocumus Dixon and 27-year-old Tareef Lamar, both of Atlantic City, were arrested after drugs were located in their apartment.

Police say they recovered more than 1,400 bags of heroin, 76 grams of cocaine, and nearly $5,800 in cash.

According to authorities, this month-long investigation stemmed from numerous complaints about drug deals within the apartment building and on the property.

Dixon was charged with two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and money laundering.

Lamar was charged with possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and contempt of court.

Both men were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
