Atlantic City Council Approves Dr. Harvey Kesselman Way Street
Atlantic City Council has approved the naming of Dr. Harvey Kesselman Way, a street sign designation to be located within the sprawling Stockton University Atlantic City, New Jersey campus.
The Atlantic City Council vote was unanimous.
The block, located along the Stockton University Residential Complex, will officially be renamed at a ceremony to be announced in 2023.
“I’m honored and humbled by this,” Kesselman said. “It’s not only very meaningful to me and my family but also the university that I’ve spent my entire adult life at. We are very thrilled to be in Atlantic City, and we will continue to expand in Atlantic City.”
The Ordinance reads:
“Dr. Kesselman’s visionary prowess and collaborative nature has positioned Stockton University’s Atlantic City Campus to be an extraordinary Anchor Institution and a major economic driver for the region and the educational capital of southern New Jersey.”
Kesselman previously announced that he will retire on June 30, 2023. He is the 5th President in Stockton University history.
Kesselman is a graduate of Stockton University and a member of the first graduating class in 1971.
Kesselman has led Stockton University from a small college in the Pinelands National Reserve to a world-class university.
Stockton University has locations in Galloway, Atlantic City, Hammonton, Manahawkin and Woodbine.
Kesselman has also led Stockton through the design, development and construction phases of the Atlantic City campus.
On Kesselman’s watch, Stockton University has been named an Anchor Institution by the state of New Jersey.
Stockton University received a record level of state funding this year.
