Gunfire in Atlantic City leaves a city man murdered and the suspect is still outside the grip of the law.

Jasper Bell, 32, of Anchorage Court, died en route to hospitalization Thursday night, according to the office of Atlantic Count Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner.

Police were summoned at about 8:47 PM and found Bell riddled with bullet wounds. An autopsy early today determined gunshots to be the cause of death, and the coroner ruled the manner of death to be homicide.

No information is available regarding the type of ammo, or possible circumstances surrounding the shooting. According to a 2010 article in The Press of Atlantic City, Bell was arrested in June of that year on an assault bench warrant, a municipal warrant in Atlantic City and non-support charges.

Investigators seek witnesses, or those with knowledge of the incident. The Prosecutor's Major Crimes Unit can be reached at 609-909-7666. Atlantic City Police detectives can be reached at 609-347-5766.
