There’s been a lot of talk about Marty Small, the indicted Mayor of Atlantic City.

Yet, no one has chronicled what happens next if Small is convicted of any of the various child abuse and witness tampering criminal charge(s) that he faces.

The Marty Small Criminal Charges Include:

  • second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
  • third-degree Terroristic Threats.
  • third-degree Aggravated Assault.
  • A separate Atlantic County Grand Jury also indicted Marty Small for witness tampering.

La’Quetta Smsll is the wife of Marty Small. She was indicted with her husband on September 17, 2024 on second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. It is the only criminal charge that she presently faces, but, it is a very serious charge.

Both Marty and La’Quetta Small were criminally charged (directly) by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office prior to their criminal indictments.

What Happens If Marty Small Is Convicted?

His trial begins on Monday, November 10, 2025 … exactly 6 days after his reelection bid for Mayor of Atlantic City takes place. The timing of his trial is not by accident.

Many believe that a Democrat controlled New Jersey state government has done this as a huge political favor to Marty Small.

Purposely delaying the start of the Marty Small trial is a big win for him.

If Small is convicted of any one of his 4 criminal charges … upon sentencing, he will be required to forfeit his position as Mayor of Atlantic City.

Often, a forced resignation such as this will happen prior to sentencing.

Atlantic City Council President Becomes Mayor

Which ironically is exactly how Small became Atlantic City Mayor, upon the conviction of former Mayor Frank Gilliam.

Aaron “Sporty” Randolph is the current President of Atlantic City Council.

Randolph automatically becomes the Acting Mayor of Atlantic City upon a Small (still hypothetical) conviction.

Atlantic City Democrat Committee

They will meet and select up to 3 candidates to be the next Mayor of Atlantic City. Randolph is eligible to be one of those 3 candidates.

Atlantic City Council Meets

The 9 members of the Atlantic City Council vote to pick the next Mayor of Atlantic City.

They are limited to vote for one of the 3 candidates sent to them by the Atlantic City Democrat Committee.

A Special Election Is Called Next

The Atlantic City Clerk will then call for a Special Election, whereby the voters of Atlantic City will have the opportunity to elect the next Mayor of Atlantic City.

The winner will serve the remainder of the Marty Smsll time, which would likely be 3 years or more.

The State Of New Jersey Has Done Wrong Here

The purposeful delay of the criminal trial of Marty Small could trigger everything that we’ve outlined above.

They should have and could have had the Marty Small criminal trial before the November 4, 2025 General Election.

The citizen voters of Atlantic City should have been given the opportunity to go to the polls on November 4, 2025, knowing if their Mayor is a convicted criminal.
