Atlantic City, New Jersey Mayor Marty Small and his wife, La’Quetta Small will be back in New Jersey Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury’s courtroom, today.

Today’s appearance before Judge DeLury will be a pretrial conference.

La’Quetta Small Is The Superintendent of Public Schools for The City of Atlantic City

La’Quetta Small has remained on the job, despite being criminally charged with child abuse.

We have not been able to find another example in America, whereby a teacher, supportive staff member or school supervisor has been criminally charged with child abuse and has been allowed to remain on the job … prior to disposition of the criminal charges.

According To The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Marty Small & La’Quetta Small Are Charged With:

On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Marty Small, Sr., (then) 50, and his wife, La Quetta Small, (then) 47, of Atlantic City, NJ were both indicted for second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Marty Small, Sr. was also indicted for third-degree Terroristic Threats, and third-degree Aggravated Assault. It is alleged that during the months of December 2023 and January 2024, the defendants physically and emotionally abused their 15/16-year-old-daughter on multiple occasions. During one incident, on January 13, 2024, Marty Small, Sr. is alleged to have hit his daughter multiple times in the head with a broom causing her to lose consciousness, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

It Will Be Separate Trials for Marty Small & La’Quetta

Despite the fact that both Marty small and La’Quetta small will be appearing today before Judge DeLury … they will be having completely separate trials.

La’Quetta Small filed a motion through her attorney, Lee Vartan to be separated from her husband.

Judge DeLury granted La’Quetta Smalls’ motion for a separate trial.
