Atlantic City, NJ, Car Crash Yields Drugs & Outstanding Warrants
The Atlantic City Police Department literally had a timely and effective “Johnny on the spot.”
Atlantic City Police Officer John Bell observed two cars crash into one another at Tennessee and Baltic Avenues on November 12, 2024, at 4:52 p.m., in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
This resulted in the discovery of drugs and multiple outstanding warrants.
The Atlantic City Police Department has released the following information about this incident:
“One of the drivers, Louis Murphy, exited one vehicle and began to walk away causing Officer Bell to run after and detain him. Murphy was found to have several active warrants for his arrest and did not have a valid driver's license. He was taken into custody and later found to be in possession of 100 individual bags of heroin and six grams of cocaine,“ according to the Atlantic City Police Department.
ARRESTED: Louis Murphy, 22, of Atlantic City.
Murphy is charged with the following criminal offenses:
- Possession of CDS (two counts).
- possession of CDS with intent to distribute (two counts).
- possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone (two counts).
- money laundering.
- possession of CDS paraphernalia.
Murphy is currently lodged at the Atlantic County Justice facility.
