Atlantic City, NJ, Councilman Does Not Believe Mayor Had Death Threat

Atlantic City, NJ Councilman George Tibbitt appeared on-air this morning on WPG Talk Radio 95.5

Tibbitt responded to our article about Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small receiving a death threat.

Tibbitt publicly revealed on-air this morning that he and his son were threatened in December, 2024 … due to what Tibbitt believes is directly related to public comments that Marty Small has made about him in the past.

Tibbitt went into painstaking detail about how he has been forced to alter his habits, because of the potential threat he faces as an elected public official, following the December, 2024 threat.

Tibbitt strongly disagrees with our assessment in my first article about Mayor Small on this topic (see link directly below).

Tibbitt did not hold back and unambiguously stated that he does not believe that Small received a credible death threat.

Tibbitt cited what he believes is a pattern of Marty Small requesting and receiving elaborate police protection details … Tibbitt said as follows:

I commend The Mayor for his part in bringing justice to the victim’s family (murder trial that Small testified at) and the closure that they deserve.

I hope the Mayor now sees the danger that he puts people in by calling them rats and snitches for helping law enforcement bring people to justice.

it saddens me that I find it difficult to believe the threats against him. Seeing a pattern of every time he goes out of town police are assigned to his house … or events that he is part of … or participated in … have police detailed to these parties.

I find it odd that on his return to Atlantic City that the threat is gone and no one has been caught. I APOLOGIZE FOR FEELING THIS WAY … BUT, I WAS BORN AT NIGHT … JUST NOT LAST NIGHT, said Tibbitt.
