Atlantic City, NJ, Man Goes to Prison For Having a Gun
An Atlantic City man is going to prison after being found with a gun while dealing drugs in the World's Play Ground.
On Monday, 24-year-old Elijah Harris was sentenced to five years in state prison with a 42 month period of parole ineligibility on a charge of second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun.
Harris was arrested on Florida Avenue in Atlantic City. When he pleaded guilty, Harris admitted that he possessed a handgun in his backpack while possessing drugs with the intent to distribute them.
Harris’ co-defendant, Xavier Martin, was arrested as part of the same investigation and he was previously sentenced to state prison on a separate handgun charge earlier this year.
The case was investigated by the Atlantic City Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
