Atlantic City, NJ, man goes to prison for trifecta of crimes
An Atlantic City man is headed to prison for three different crimes.
Earlier this week, 22-year-old Majestic Moody was sentenced to seven years in state prison on the following charges:
- Second-degree possession with intent to distribute CDS
- Second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun
- Third-degree possession with intent to distribute CDS
- Third-degree burglary
On December 2nd, 2021, Egg Harbor Township Police responded to an activated burglar alarm at a business on Ocean Heights Ave. A surveillance system showed three people entering the closed business by breaking a front door. The suspects then grabbed a cash register and drove away. Moody was identified as one of the suspects; he was issued a summons and released with a future court date.
On June 8th, 2023, officers with the Atlantic City Police Department attempted to stop a speeding vehicle. After parking, the driver, Moody, fled on foot. Once caught, he was "found to be in possession of a distribution amount of CDS concealed on his person." Inside of that vehicle, authorities found an unregistered handgun under a seat. The resulting charges were placed on a warrant and Moody was released at his detention hearing over the State’s objection.
Then on July 23rd, 2024, ACPD officers saw Moody "conducting hand-to-hand drug transactions in public." Moody was again arrested.
