Atlantic City, NJ, Mayor’s Home Raided: Why No Press Conference?
Atlantic City, New Jersey Mayor Marty Small regularly holds hastily called press conferences to take credit for things he has little or nothing to do with.
Why didn’t Small hold a press conference on Thursday, March 28, 2024 … on the day that law enforcement raided his residence to execute a legal search warrant of his home?
Criminal defense attorney Edwin Jacobs confirmed to News 12 that police officers did go to Marty and La’Quetta Small's home with search warrants.
I was the first yesterday to report the news of this development.
Jacobs told News 12 that "Search warrants are incredibly easy to get, and law enforcement doesn't afford a person the opportunity to give his or her side before they are issued. Nobody should read anything into this,” said Jacobs.
Jacobs, who I hold in very high regard, did not confirm what branch of law enforcement was at the Small’s home yesterday.
I have confirmed that it was the Atlantic County, New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office that was at the Small’s residence … with a large presence on hand yesterday.
Here are exclusive photos of yesterday’s raid of the Small’s home.
The photos show at least 6 Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office officers outside of the Small’s home.
Although I have profound respect for criminal defense attorney Edwin Jacobs, it is my considered opinion that you should read a whole lot into the Small’s family home raid.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office did not do this lightly.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office also announced yesterday that the Principal of Atlantic City High School, Constance Days-Chapman has been charged with very serious crimes as follows:
- second-degree Official Misconduct.
- third-degree Hindering Apprehension of Another.
- fourth-degree Obstruction of Justice.
- disorderly persons Failure to Report Child Abuse.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the charges were placed on a summons.
Here is what the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is alleging regarding Days-Chapman.
On January 22, 2024, a juvenile student at the high school informed a school staff member that the student had been emotionally and physically abused by the student's parents and that the student had previously disclosed this abuse to Mrs. Days-Chapman. The school staff member discussed the matter with Days-Chapman later that same day. Days-Chapman denied that the student ever disclosed the abuse to her previously but told the school staffer that she would report the matter to the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P, formerly known as DYFS). Both the staffer and another eyewitness to the conversation believed that Days-Chapman was going to notify the authorities as they were leaving her office. The other eyewitness even told Days-Chapman that she (the eyewitness) would notify DCP&P, but that Days-Chapman insisted that she would make the notification. Later that evening, Days-Chapman met with the juvenile's parents at the parents' house and informed them that the juvenile disclosed to school staff that the juvenile was being abused by them. DCP&P confirmed that there was no disclosure reported to them regarding the abuse of the juvenile from Days-Chapman or any other member of the staff from Atlantic City High School. This incident was investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office's Special Victims Unit and the Professional Standards and Accountability
Both Marty and La’Quetta Small have been very close political allies with Days-Chapman.
Developing.
NOTE: Criminal defense attorney Edwin Jacobs is the successful architect, who twice developed the legal (trial) strategy responsible for Small to twice beat the state of New Jersey. Small has previously faced substantial criminal charges in the past.
