Atlantic City, NJ, Structure Fire: Home Is Engulfed In Flames
At approximately 2:45 p.m., on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, a substantial residential house fire erupted in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The fire is currently underway at this hour at 228 North Arizona Avenue.
Massive flames can be seen coming out of all three upper floor windows.
The Atlantic City Professional Firefighters are doing a great job under less than ideal circumstances.
When they arrived to fire, the Atlantic City fire department attempted to access water from the fire hydrant on Arizona Avenue.
There was inadequate water pressure. I have learned that this is a long-standing problem, that needs to be corrected.
The Atlantic City Professional Firefighters quickly called for another engine company to assist … and they promptly brought in water from California Avenue, which is right nearby.
The Atlantic City professional firefighters expertly handled this momentary lack of water in expert fashion.
On hand to battle this large structure fire are:
- Engine 6
- Engine 3
- Engine 2
- Ladder 2
- Rescue 1
- Battalion Chief 1
- Deputy Fire Chief
I have not been able to confirm, however, Engine 1 may also be assisting.
We also do not know if the fire has spread to the adjoining home to the right of the structure fire.
We also do not know thus hour if the fire has spread to the adjoining home to the right of the structure fire.
If you look at the photo above and below, you can see there is slight separation between the home on the left and the home that is presently on fire.
However, the home on the right is directly connected to the house fire, with perhaps only a brick firewall separating the two properties.
This is a developing story. We will provide updates as warranted.
