Atlantic City, NJ, Health Alert: Mosquitoes Test Positive West Nile Virus

The City of Atlantic City Is proactively advising the public that they have received preliminary information that several mosquitoes in the Chelsea neighborhood have tested positive for West Nile Virus.

Small has advised that, “The City has followed all appropriate public health protocols and remains in close communication with Atlantic County and State health officials,” said Small.

Mosquito Spraying Is Set For Today

Weather permitting, the Atlantic County Office of Mosquito Control was scheduled to spray parts of Atlantic City from 4:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. this morning.

Specifically, the treatment areas include:

• North Harrisburg Avenue.
• Winchester Avenue.
• North Montgomery Avenue.
• South Montgomery Avenue.
• Atlantic Avenue.
• South Trenton Avenue.
• Ventnor Avenue.

All Residents & Visitors Are Advised To Take These Precautions While The Threat Exists

• Use insect repellent when outdoors.
• Wear long sleeves and pants when practical.
• Remove standing water around your property.
• Keep doors and windows properly screened.
