
Two Residents Arrested in Atlantic City, NJ, Shooting Murder
The second shooting murder of 2025 happened in Atlantic City, New Jersey this past Sunday, July 6, 2025.
In a big turnaround from 2024, Atlantic City had gone through almost half of 2025 without a shooting death.

Led to the arrest of two people in connection of the shooting death of Vaughn Lyons of Atlantic City.
The Following Two Atlantic City Residents Have been Criminally Charged
William A. Tucker, 52 years old, from Atlantic City, New Jersey has been charged with:
- Murder.
- Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
- Possession of a Handgun Without a Permit.
- Unlawful Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition.
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute.
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a Drug Free Public Zone.
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a School Zone.
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
Sabrina Hearns Evans, 30 years old, from Atlantic City, New Jersey was charged with the following:
- Hindering Apprehension for the Crime of Murder.
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute.
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a Drug Free Public Zone.
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a School Zone.
- Possession of a controlled Dangerous Substance.
Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Outlines The Crimes
Sunday, July 6, 2025, at approximately 11:20 p.m., the Atlantic City Police Department received a 911 call from a motorist reporting a male down in the area of 1400 N. Albany Avenue, on the overpass of Route 40 leading to the Atlantic City High School. Officers arrived and located Lyons, 43, of Atlantic City, unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Lyons was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Southern Regional Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy on Lyons. The cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds. The manner of death is a homicide, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
