Atlantic County, NJ Candidate: Chairman Refuses to Meet with Him
A candidate who is running for Atlantic City Council at Large has called-out the Atlantic County, New Jersey Democrat Chairman for refusing to meet with him.
John Devlin is a 20-year elected Democrat Committee Member, former 20-year elected Atlantic City Board of Education Member, and, the former President of The Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority.
Devlin is running on the Mayoral candidate Bob McDevitt ticket … who are challenging the incumbent Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small ticket.
Small currently stands indicted on multiple child abuse charges and separately indicted a second time for witness tampering.
Here is what Devlin is alleging versus his own party chairman, Suleiman:
"It's unfortunate that the county chairman Suleiman refuses to meet a candidate for Atlantic City Council. I've held office for decades in the county and I have raised and contributed tens of thousands of dollars to the party. Sadly this is the type of actions that has people fleeing our party every day. His blind loyalty to the current mayor and his hand picked running mates is scary at best. This continued behavior shrinks an already small pool of good people that would like to run for office. His time on the democratic county thrown is not ending soon enough. The longer he sits in that position, the more damage he does to the party, his track record thus far has been horrific,” said Devlin.
Devlin ended his allegations against Suleiman with the ultimate insult that you can extend to a political party leader:
"He (Suleiman) is the only county chairman who loses every race and keeps his chair position,” said Devlin.
We have reached out to Suleiman for comment about Devlin’s blunt statements about.
