If you've ever had the chance to walk around Batsto Village in Wharton State Forest, you know what a special place it is.

The village is very historically significant and is a great place for the young and old to visit.

There are dozens of buildings - all very well persevered  - that you can tour, plus there are literally miles and miles of walking trails in the nearby forest.

I was amazed to hear that some people lived in Batsto Village all the way up until 1989. I had no idea!

The Village was purchased by the state in the 1950s, but residents were allowed to stay as long as they wanted.
