Beloved Former Atlantic City, NJ, VP of Sales Has Passed Away
They say that you can gauge the measure of a person by the lives that they touched during their lifetime.
Every single person that Sandi Harvey touched during her short 64 years of life is far better off for having met and known Sandi.
I went to Sandi Harvey’s Facebook page this morning. The outpouring of unconditional love for Sandi tells the whole story.
Sandi led a life that involved family, friends and colleagues; all of whom she was able to touch deeply because of the extraordinary woman that she was.
Sandi Harvey passed away this past Saturday morning, December 7, 2024 at age 64.
We all know that life is too short, however, Sandi’s life was way too short.
Sandi made a decision to retire (18 months ago) from her position as Vice President of Sales at the Visit Atlantic City organization.
My observations about Sandi Harvey are that she was:
A truly beautiful person.
- Kind.
- Inclusive.
- Unselfish.
- Hard working.
- Loyal.
- Great Wife.
- Great Mom.
- Wonderful Grand Ma.
- A loyal and trusted friend.
And, this is just for starters.
To give you some measure of this great woman, I will share public comments made on Sandi Harvey’s Facebook page over this past weekend:
Felicia Watson wrote: “I am at a complete loss. There is no words for how I feel. I never thought I would make a post like this. Rest in peace my sister. Heartbroken beyond measure.”
Margie Hurley wrote: “Meet three new people, look them in the eyes when they are speaking, wear a cozy sweatshirt, have lunch with your friends. It's going to be hard for a while, but "with love and a bit of magic", we will help each other thru.”
Margie is referring to how everywhere that Sandi went, she wanted to meet three new people and get to really known them.
Here is Sandi Harvey and Margie with one of the greatest professional boxers in history, Bernard Hopkins.
Margie posted this in Sandi’s Facebook page (see below):
A few years ago, Sandi and I were speakers at a great event in Atlantic City.
Sandi was one of Atlantic City’s greatest Ambassadors of all time.
Here we are right before walking into the conference.
Sheila Jessie Jackson Wrote, “Rest in peace, my dear Friend Sandi Harvey ! Heaven just gained a beautiful soul!”
Alicia Lauren wrote, “Oh my GG! I will never understand why, and I know I'm not suppose to question why. But you were always the calm and voice of reason and reassurance. The most positive person who always reminded everyone of the good in the world. You would do for anyone without second thought. Your grandbabies were your world. As you were theirs. I just want one more hug one more laugh with you. One of your last texts told me to take care of my family and take care of T like I always do I will always! Thank you for showing me what strength is and unconditional love! I'm not sure how you did it on most days but I hope to be of your strength and character. We will continue our dance parties and balloon games. I know you are dancing away up there with your sister. God please, please watch over our family and continue to shower us in strength and love. I'm not sure how we get through this one but I know you will guide us. I love you GG, rest in paradise. T is surrounded by love and support, "you know I got you girl!"
Vicky Grant wrote: “I love you, my dear friend. We came to laugh one more time but were met with tears. Sweet dreams knowing you were so dearly loved. Your pain is gone, and you're at peace. Your spirit will live with us all until we meet again.”
Dee Hibbett wrote: “I was really hoping that you would hold on until we got there. I wanted to hear you say my name and to hear you laugh one more time. But I'm comforted in knowing that you were surrounded by family and grand-biscuits However, we arrived at the right moment. We held them tight and stood guard. It was my extreme honor to help to prepare the body thru a Sister-hood of tears. You did this your way..Continue your rest. Love you my SandMan!!!”
Reese Wat wrote: “Found this picture a few months ago and texted it to my Aunt Sandi Harvey. She replied, "Wow! We are so beautiful!" Later that month, when we celebrated my father's 80th birthday, we didn't take pictures. We gathered as a family, broke bread, felt the warm sun and breeze, talked about life and just re-fueled on each other's love and energy. The day was peaceful and beautiful. We weren't on social or taking pictures--we were just fully present with each other as family. We were the same way last night and today. We were present with one another. We were together as a family. We stayed by her side, and held onto one another because that was all that we could do. I know that she felt our love. If you knew Sandi, you knew her warmth. You knew her smile. You knew her laugh. She made everyone feel welcome. She had a big heart and brought so much light and love into our family. There just aren't words right now. There's just our family. Every person that she befriended became part of the family in the truest sense. To everyone who loved her, please keep praying for her soul, for her children, her "grand-biscuits", her friends and my dear Uncle David Harvey, her husband of 37 years who, in his words, got to grow old with the love of his life.“
Anthony J Harvey wrote: “The love you gave and received from those who ever met you literally changed the world. I love you ma and thank you for being in my life!!! Rest in paradise.”
T.D. Harvey wrote: “To my beautiful stepmother Sandi Harvey. Thank you for loving me and my brothers and for taking care of my father. Your warm light and radiant love will ALWAYS be missed! Rest in power! We LOVE YOU!!!”
Anthony J Harvey also wrote: “I Love you ma!!! I have no words and this hurts and its not fair!!! See you one day on the other side...Rest in Paradise!!!”
Jazmin A. Harvey wrote: “My heart is BROKEN! Why Momma Sandi! Being with you all week until the very end! Holding you today, I didn't want to let go. We still had more dancing to do! GMIL, Rest In Paradise. My Gorgeous Mother-In-Love, I will continue dancing! Your GDIL...Gorgeous Daughter-In-Love loves you so much! Oh my heart..........”
Laura Torres wrote: “My Sandi... my boss, my friend, my mentor, my angel... I will always love and remember you. One of the most special people in my life. OMG, I can't believe this. Will miss you so much mi amor.”
Terrance Harvey wrote: “Rip mom I love you always and forever.”
We’ll have Sandi’s husband, David close out our coverage.
David Harvey wrote: “My heart is broken I lost the love of my life. Rest in paradise Sandi Harvey the best thing that ever happened to me. Thirty seven years of love.”
As comprehensive as this article may seem to be, it is just a small fraction of the public comments about the late, great Sandi Harvey that have poured in this past weekend.
Let this serve as notice that Sandi Harvey lived and loved and touched countless lives during her abbreviated lifetime.
