Best Crab Cakes In The Atlantic City, NJ Area [Photos]
Crab Cakes are one of my favorite meals. I find them to be so satisfying and delicious. We haven’t visited this topic since November 13, 2025.
Here some of the very best that are available in the Atlantic City, New Jersey area.
My Thanks & Appreciation To Kristin Hurley Baker
Kristin is my beautiful and fabulous daughter … who also happens to be a legitimate foodie, with objective insights about what constitutes great food.
Kristin inspired me last night to write this article, after she sent me a great photo of a crab cake that she had in Margate, New Jersey last night.
Robert’s Place — Margate, New Jersey
Kristin advised that Christine Sutor hand makes them and that they “are in the top crab cakes of my life. Probably the most jumbo lump crab I’ve ever had. Almost no filler whatsoever,” said Kristin (last night).
Kristin said you can get these crab cakes at Robert’s Place with asparagus and mashed potatoes, or, French Fries as pictured above.
Kristin does not issue undeserved high praise about food. She calls it as she sees it.
My Favorite Crab Cake — Bobby Chez Gourmet Crab Cake
There's no filler. It's all jumbo lump crabmeat, with a secret Bobby Chez creamy roux that is literally the “secret sauce."
I just had two Bobby Chez crab cakes for lunch this past Tuesday. I love the consistency. They’re perfect every time.
"Bobby Chez" describes their cooking process like this:
We lightly fry each 4 oz crab cake in Japanese bread crumbs which absorb less oil, then flash fry at the peak of flavor to retain flavor and freshness, said Bobby Chez.
Dock’s Oyster House — Atlantic City, New Jersey
The Dougherty Family are synonymous with seafood for more than 100 years. You can't go wrong. These crab cakes feature high-quality ingredients and a whole lot of TLC.
They are very light and also satisfying. You can enjoy one that is served over a fresh piece of flounder. Big wow factor here.
Knife & Fork Inn — Atlantic City, New Jersey
Another fabulous Dougherty Family restaurant. The presentation of the above crab cake is spectacular.
They make a perfectly formed jumbo lump crab cake, served with Red Pepper Coulis.
It is sheer perfection, taste, texture, and their attention to detail is at the highest level of excellence.
Steve & Cookies By The Bay — Margate, New Jersey
A “best of” list almost always includes Cookie Till.
Everything that Cookie does is first class all the way.
The above are delicious. Cookie also offers them in a fabulous crab cake sandwich alternative.
Either way, you can't go wrong. Cookie never skimps on the quality of all products and ingredients.
Crab Trap — Somers Point, New Jersey
These mini crab bites are absolutely fantastic. They are served as an appetizer, However, I often pair them with a bowl of the best crab bisque soup in New Jersey and it makes a perfect entrée.
You get 5 mini crab cakes with every order. The flavor is fantastic.
Tuckahoe Inn — Chef Tyson’s Crab Cake
Chef Tyson describes it this way:
Our award-winning crab cakes grilled Maryland style | Served with a side of our homemade jalapeño lime mayonnaise, said Chef Tyson.
Local Foodie, Andy Kortman describes it like this:
”The Tuckahoe Inn crab cakes are done Maryland style with jumbo lump crab meat....all thriller, no filler. Broiled or pan sauteed for the perfect crust. Try the house-made jalapeño lime mayonnaise,” said Kortman.
Honorable Mention — Chef Diane Crab Cakes at The Former Angeloni’s II Restaurant & Lounge
I really miss these.
The Chef Diane recipe … They were formed perfectly, with no fillers. Taste and texture are fabulous.
The new Angeloni’s has featured them.
Bonus Crab Cake From Kristin Hurley Baker — The Boat House — Walt Disney World
This beauty above is in Kristin’s All-Time Top 3. It looks delicious.
