Body Found in Delaware Bay Near Lower Township

Two men kayaking in Delaware Bay off Lower Township discovered a body in the water Sunday afternoon.

Lower Township Police say the men called in the report of the body in the water about 30-40 meters off the coast, in between Adelphia and Racetrack Drive.

Police have been able to identify the deceased as 71-year-old Christopher J. Heise, Sr. He had been reported missing by family members; Heise's belongings had been found on a nearby beach.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, but officials do not suspect foul play.
