This is a very serious situation for Brigantine. The flooding and erosion we are seeing are unlike anything we have experienced since Superstorm Sandy, and we are particularly concerned about the condition of the dunes and the potential for a breach at the northern end of the Promenade. Our first priority right now is making sure our residents and our community are safe. We are working with our partners at every level of government to get the resources we need to respond and begin the recovery process, said Sera.

Sera “has also been in contact with Atlantic County officials, who are working with the City on the recovery effort and the repairs that will be needed to the Promenade, said Sera.

Sera has also received State Senator Vince Polistina’s full support to Brigantine throughout the significant recovery effort and beyond.

Sera Seeking Disaster Declarations

Brigantine is working with federal, state, and county officials to pursue a disaster declaration, which will open-up much needed federal and state emergency funding.

"We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we are not going to do it alone," said Sera. We have strong partners at the federal, state, and county levels, and we are going to continue working together to make sure Brigantine gets the assistance it needs. Once conditions improve, we will complete a full assessment of the damage and begin working on our recovery plan, concluded Sera.
