
Camden Man Arrested in Fatal Shooting of 24-year-old
Camden, N.J. — A Camden man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in the city earlier this month.
Camden Police Responded to ShotSpotter Activation
45-year-old Eric Irizarry has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Luis J. Bonet of Camden. He is also charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
According to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, at about 12:20 AM on June 9th, officers with the Camden County Police Department responded to the 200 block of Morse Street in reference to a ShotSpotter activation.

At the scene, officers located a gunshot victim, identified as Bonet, in the area of Baird Boulevard and Boyd Street. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he was dead minutes later.
Suspect Surrendered to Police Days Later
During the investigation, detectives say Irizarry was responsible for shooting Bonet. He was charged the following day, and he surrendered without incident at the Camden County Police Department on June 12th. He was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
