Iconic Cape May, NJ, Singer-Songwriter Event Ends 14-Year Run
Events, even iconic ones have a certain shelf life. After 14 years, the annual Cape May, New Jersey Singer-Songwriter Conference has ended its successful run.
The Vision Of Patrick Logue, Former Vice President of Operations for Cape Resorts

The conclusion of this relevant conference follows the retirement of Patrick Logue, Vice President of Operations for Cape Resorts, who recently ended his extraordinary 35-year career with the company.
Logue and John Harris co-founded the event in 2008.

At the time of last year’s event, Logue told us:
The weekend of entertainment is one big party with all the venues in walking distance of each other: It feels like one big music festival. Everyone is in a great mood. For the artists, the showcases offer a coveted chance to perform in front of industry professionals, fellow musicians, and enthusiastic music lovers. For the music lovers, prepare to be wowed because the Cape May Singer-Songwriter Conference promises to be an unforgettable experience, said Logue.
Logue Successfully Trapped “Lightning” In A Bottle

The event came to life in Cape May after Logue visited Harris's Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 2007.
Logue was Inspired by the sight of a town that was completely sold out and alive with music during the dead of winter.
It was then that Logue realized that the same magic could help to raise Cape May's off-season economy.
John Harris Reflects On The Event
Creating this event alongside Patrick, and our invaluable Board Members, Maureen Harris and Carl Behrens, was a highlight of my career and seeing how the community embraced it year after year was truly moving.
The landscape has shifted-local venues have successfully built up their own incredible programming, and the off-season here is thriving, which is exactly what we hoped to achieve. While it has become unsustainable to host emerging artists at the scale we once did, we are leaving on a high note, deeply proud of the careers we helped launch and the beautiful music that filled this historic town,” said Harris.
This event materially contributed to Cape May’s reputation as a year-round destination resort.
