Atlantic City Cops: Investigations Leads to Arrest, Drug Seizure
Cops in Atlantic City say a three month-long investigation into the distribution of drugs in the city resulted in one person being arrested and an assortment of narcotics being seized.
According to the Atlantic City Police Department, detectives with the Special Investigations Section executed a search warrant on a home in the first block of South Florida Avenue on Thursday. The target was 49-year-old Chance Hamilton of Atlantic City. Inside Hamilton’s home, per a press release, "detectives located 330 bags of heroin, 22 grams of cocaine, more than nine grams of ecstasy, more than five ounces of marijuana, paraphernalia used in the distribution of narcotics, and more than $2,100 in cash."
Hamilton was charged with counts each of possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, and single counts of money laundering and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Hamilton was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
