An Atlantic City man who had two active warrants out for his arrest has been taken off of the streets of the World's Play Ground.

Hakim Clark of Atlantic City

Authorities say around lunchtime last Friday, March 8th, an Atlantic City police officer saw 33-year-old Hakim Clark walking on the beach block of North Carolina Avenue.

Clark had two active warrants for his arrest, including one from North Carolina with extradition back to that state.

The officer stopped Clark, "who became combative and provided false information regarding his identity," and allegedly resisted arrest.

Additional officers responded and they were able to take Clark into custody.

Police say a search of Clark yielded a loaded gun that was reported to be stolen out of North Carolina and ten ecstasy pills.

Clark has been charged with the following:

  • Unlawful possession of a weapon
  • Certain person not to possess a weapon
  • Possession of hollow-point ammunition
  • Hindering apprehension
  • Resisting arrest
  • Receiving stolen property
  • Possession of CDS
  • Refusal to be fingerprinted
  • Fugitive from justice

Clark was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
