Another day, another type of scam.

This time, cops in Hamilton Township are alerting residents to a phone scam that claims to be coming from them.

Townsquare Media

In this latest incident, residents in Hamilton Township have been receiving phone calls where they are being asked for their current address to update the police department’s database. Callers are then told they will be receiving an envelope in the mail in which they can make a donation to their local police department.

The Hamilton Township Police Department would like to remind everyone that they will never contact you to update any records nor will they ask you for a donation.

If you receive a call similar to this, do not provide them any information, hang up, and then call police at 609-625-2700 to report it.
