Little Egg Harbor Woman Charged with Suspicion of DUI, Child Endangerment
A woman from Little Egg Harbor Township is facing charges following a traffic stop in Mullica Township late last week.
The Mullica Township Police Department says one of their officers stopped an erratic driver on Weekstown Road in the Sweetwater section of the township just before 5:00 last Friday evening.
According to police, the driver, identified as Danielle Simpkins of Little Egg Harbor, was asked to perform field sobriety tests. Police say Simpkins failed the tests and she was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Seated in the rear of Simpkins’ car were her children, ages 4 and 5. As a result, she was additionally charged with endangering the welfare of children.
Authorities remind the public that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
